COFFEE!!
So ... the great news is that I've finally found somewhere that serves LAVAZZA! It's a little coffee shop next to the Partick train station - just 5 mins walk from home. I had seen the Lavazza sign outside but hadn't picked up the courage to walk in and get a coffee, since pretty much all the other coffees I've had here in Scotland have been disappointing to say the least.
There was a guy of Asian heritage at this cafe, with an authentic Scottish accent (!) and he whipped up the best coffee I've had in the recent past. Mind you, it's been so long, I've probably forgotten what good coffee tastes like. Well, just thought you should know; especially all my coffee-culture friends in Melbourne. Yes, there is civilisation outside Melbourne.. it's in a little cafe next to Partick train station in Glasgow :)
Michael.
