Our day trip to Dunoon - near the mouth of Glasgows Clyde river.
and below - our trip to Dublin.

( oh, and I've added a stunning panorama from our New Zealand trip - here )

* remember : click on the photo to see it larger.

A train trip, a ferry ride and we're in yet another lovely part of Scotland !

arty shot

This is a lovely traditional hotel -
we ventured in out of the cold seeking a coffee and in the foyer there was
a board with table numbers allocated to room numbers.

where we had lunch - overlooking the water,
just before we ferried back to Glassow side
as the sky started going dark around 5pm.

and ... Our weekend in Dublin !

and guess who we flew with !

This place must rival Amsterdam for the skinniest building award !

Looking down towards the spire in O'Connell street.

Some crazy beardy weirdy in a box.

The amnesty memorial flame, and as memorials go ... stunning.

and they have a canal system too !

In this park their are many memorials including ...

... Oscar Wilde.

Waiting for inspiration to send our postcard back to Tim.

The Temple Bar area with restaurants and, yes, bars !

Ian : My feelings about Dublin : It was pleasant but didn't feel that different from
Glasgow ( except cleaner ! ). It was interesting to see the 2000 year old
bodies found in peat bogs in the Dublin museum. A little bit touristy.
I'd like to get out into the countryside next time.

... and a cute Irish cop !

and lastly, a few recent shots of Dumbarton road near our place
and the xmas lights of George square in the city centre.

Enjoy ! and have a great New Year !
(and if you saw that recent documentary -
you'll hopefully be joining me in boycotting ALL
of the Coca Cola brands because of their disgusting
corporate behaviour and human rights abuses
in third world countries.)

see here - http://killercoke.org/ for more information.

Oh ! and I must say - Congratulations Australia ! - for
finally
steering away from the grey fearful 1950's
world of John Howard !
8 years late, but Here's
hoping for a more enlightened future !
